TO THE EDITOR." Si r —May I shed a ray of light on " The Saint's " quotation in last night s ' Star ' from Cr Henderson's address at Maori Hill, where the latter had a vision of Dunedin streets free of tram rails. After showing that scores of cities in Britain and America are alreadv railless, Cr Henderson added: " Auckland has the most up-to-date tramway system in the Dominion, and the tracks are in wonderfully good condition in spite of the war. There are about 250 cars very much like Dunedin's Takapunas. For the six m6nth* ended September 30 last the net profit was close on six figures, and yet the? propose to scrap the lot! Are the\ madmen, or live business men who havn seen the writing on the wall? Saints are usually inspired men, long dead.—l am, etc., Only a Sinner, But Alive. May 10.
