LIBERTY SHIPS
" POST-WAR MARKET EXPECTED
WASHINGTON, May 10 ; The Maritime Commission is studying a plan' under which 1,000 Liberty ships would be placed on after the war for use in the event of another war. Five hundred would be kept ready to man, fuel, and sail. The remainder would have their machinery packed in grease, but could be made ready quickly. A considerable market for 10-knot Liberty ships after the war is 'expected on trade routes which cannot support faster and more expensive ships.
