MAN-POWER DECISIONS
The Industrial Man-power Committee has released reserved decisions in cases involving appeals entered by workers against the direction or decision of the district man-power officer placing them in various occupations. An appeal by Miss Kathleen M. Fennessy, against the direction from McKenzies Ltd., to the Seaeliff Hospital, has been allowed on medical grounds, the appellant to report to the man-power officer (Mr J. H. Flowers) for alternative essential employment. An appeal by Noel N. McAlister against direction to employment with Bayley, Tomkins, Hedges Ltd., as e labourer, was allowed on medical grounds. The committee allowed appeals entered by John A. Greer and George Eric Alexander Murdoch, freezing workers, against refusal of permission to terminate their employment at the South Otago Freezing Works. Their appeals were granted for medical reasons.
Raymond Peter Ward's appeal against refusal of permission to terminate his employment with E. Jensen Ltd. (Mr G. V. Murdoch), in order to take up employment with J. E. Barton, butcher, of Anderson's Bay, was not allowed. t An appeal by Alexander D. Miller against refusal of permission to terminate his employment with the Railways Department iti order to take up employment with the Timaru Harbour Board, was disallowed.
