—Air Passengers.— Passengers from the north yesterday were:—Mrs M. Shaw, Major Leoba.ii: (from Auckland), Mr H. Edwards, Miss P. Davies, Dr Lynch, Dr Cairney, Mr H. N. Christie, Miss J. Brownlee (from Wellington), Mr W. H. Lee, Miss M. Martin (from Christchureh). Passengers by the northbound plane to-day were :t—Dr Averill, Mr W. Forsyth, Mr A. D. Healey (for Christchurch), Mr L. Hudson, Master N. Hooker, Mrs F.' N. Watt, Miss W. A. Todd (for Wellington), Mass M. McLaughlan, Mrs M. W. Corkery, Mra E. W. Wyatt (tor Auckland). Mr and Mrs A. F. Marett, of Caversham, have, received word that their son, Corporal Allan J. Marett, M.AI., has been promoted to commissioned rank. Advice has been received by Mr and. Mrs T. Adams, of 76 South road, that their son, T. G. H. Adams, has beea promoted to the rank of Hying officer. Mr W. A. Kilner, chief clerk of the Dunedin branch of the Government Tourist Department, who returned recently from service in the Pacific area, has resumed his duties at the local bureau. 9 . Dr Roger T. Marshall has arrived ' at Auckland from England.to take up the position of director of radiology at the Auckland Hospital, to which he was appointed last December. Dr Marshall was released from service in the Middle East with the Royal Army Medical Corps, in which he held the rank of major. He is accompanied by his wife and two young daughters. Dr Marshall is a son of Dr Patrick Marshall and Mrs Marshall, of Lower Hutt, and formerly of Dunedin. He graduated in science at Victoria University College and in medicine at > Otago University. After spending a year in the Dunedin Hospital he left New Zealand in 1937 and specialised in radiology at King's College Hospital v in London, and also studied at Larabridge University, subsequently being granted the Diploma in Medical Radiology and Electrology (Cambridge;. Advice has been received from the Admiralty that the King has approved of the award of a bar to _ the Distinguished Service Cross to Lieutenantcommander Charles George Palmer. D.S.C., R.N.Z.N.V.R., for good service in mine->sweeping for the forces operating in support of the Fifth Army. Lieutenant-commander Palmer was awarded the D.S.C. in 1942 for outstanding zeal, patience, and. cheerfulness and for setting an example o* wholehearted devotion to duty. In ]Jecumber, 1943, he was mentioned in despatches for good service in attacks on Sicily. In November last he was reported wounded in operations in the Mediterranean. His father Commander C. H. T. Palmer, R.N.Z.N.V.U. (retired), of Auckland. '
