AFRICA STAR CLASP
OFFICIAL ISSUE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 10. Announcing that the " Eight " clasp for Africa Star ribbons will be supplied as soon as possible from an official source to all entitled to it, the Army authorities mention that it has been brought to their notice that certain jewellers and engravers propose manufacturing the clasp for sale. The clasp is an emblem which the men who served with the Eighth Army from the begining of the Battle' of El Alamein until the cessation of operations in Tunisia are entitled to . wear on their Africa Star dibbons.
It is pointed out that supplying, or offering to supply> such emblems without the authority of the Army Board is an offence, breaches of which render the offenders liaible on conviction to very heavy penalties. In the meantime, those entitled to the clasp should not endeavour to obtain it privately.
