The Ashburton races were held in cold, overcast weather, before a good attendance. The track was in excellent order. The totalisator bandied £27,244, compared with £20,503. W. Nelson, the rider of Force in the Hurdles, was thrown, and suffered slight concussion. He was admitted to hospital, but later returned home.
