LEND-LEASE FUNDS
RUGBY, May 6. President Pioosevelt in a message to Congress to-day asked, for an appropriation of 3,450,000,000 dollars for lendlease during the fiscal year ending June 30. 1945, in order to provide the industrial products required for the production of planes, tanks, guns, and' other war supplies in Allied countries, and also for food and other _ agricultural products required to maintain their soldiers and war workers. He asked for the unexpended balances of previous lend-lease appropriations also to be made available, for a total of 0ver'7,188,000,000 dollars during the next fiscal year. Congress has already appropriated 24,683,000,000 dollars since lend-lease began in 1941.
