GERMANY PATTERNS INVASION ALLIES CAN'T BE STOPPED LANDING (Rec. 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 7. Berlin radio admitted to-day that the German army could not prevent the Allies landing in Europe. "The Allied invasion forces will be protected by an enormous air umbrella so powerful that it will be impossible to prevent them securing a foothold," said the radio. As invasion fever throughout occupied Europe heightens, the Nazi Press and radio are conducting a campaign apparently designed to, prepare the German people for the worst. Among the predictions about the Allied invasion are that the Allies have assembled 100,000 landing .craft. Invasion will open this month after the Allied bombing offensive has reached its peak. The main attack will be across the Channel, with another attack on the South of France, and possibly diversionary landings in Denmark and Norway. When the full Allied force is landed it will consist of 2,000.000 men, of whom 1,500,000 will come from Britain and 500,000 from the Mediterranean. Parachute and fllider landings will be made well inland. One of the " surprises " of the invasion, Nazi commentators say, will be an Allied amphibious tank ' that can fight on the land or in the water. To counteract growing resistance among patriots the Germans have intensified their terror campaign in France. It is reported that 200.000 Frenchmen were detained following a recent round-up. Ten thousand of them were sent to concentration camps and many were shot.
