GOVERNMENT TAKES OVER A SECOND PIT Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright (Rec. 12.15 p.m.)~SYDNEY, May 8. The Commonwealth Government will take over its second coal mine on May 15. This mine is at Lidsdale, in Western New South Wales. The first mine to be taken over by the Commonwealth after the new Coal Production Act came into force on March 8, was Coalcliff, on the soutli coast. It was resumed on March 14. after a general strike on the southern field had caused a production loss of about 230,000 tons in a month. There have been no recent disputes at Lidsdale, whefe work has continued regularly. The Commonwealth is taking over the mine so it nan install additional machinery to increase production. _^
