ARMY DESERTER
YEAR'S HARD LABOUR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 6. A sentence of one year's gaol with hard labour for desertion has been imposed by a general court martial on Ronald Twentyman Anderson (31). Anderson deserted from an.anti-tank unit in November, 1940, subsequently joining the R.A.F., and when found unsuited for flying duties served in merchant ships, some of these operating in dangerous zones. He was arrested iu March, 1944, while serving in a New Zealand coastal ship.
