OBITUARY

MR WALTER STRANG , The death occurred yesterday, at his home at' Norfolk street, St. Clair, of Mr Walter Wilson Strang, aged 56 years, who " was well known in sporting circles. A returned soldier of the last war, Mr Strang joined up with the local battalion 0 of the National Military Reserve' during "the present war, gaining a commission after that unit was mobilised for home defence. He played Rugby for the Kaikorai Club, being half-back of the senior side for some vears and a very fit player. For many years he was also a member of the Dunedin Cricket Club, and represented the province. Of recent years lie had played golf with the fit. Clair Golf Club." He was. an enthusiastic member of the Dunedin Returner] Services' Choir, and often contributed solo items at choir concerts. He commenced work with Messrs Paterson and Barr,

ironmongers, with whom ho remained for many years before entering business as a sports outfitter in Princes street, opposite the Post Office, Deceased is survived by his wife.
