CZECH AIR CREW FIGHTS JUNKERS (Reei 11.15 a.m.) * RUGBY, Oct. 24. In a 45-minute engagement with semi Junkers 83's over the Bay of Bisr-av during the week-end the Czech crew 'of a Coastal Command Liberator shot down one enemy aircraft into the sea, sent another badly damaged from the fight, and registered hits a third, says the Air Ministry Sews Service. ' . "The Liberator, whose Czech pilot had had.eight previous .combats with Junkers 88's in the Bay of Biscay, was on anti-U-boat patrol when an enemy formation was sighted above the aircraft about a mile away. On a signal from the leader, of the Junkers 88's the enemv made simultaneous attacks. As the Junkers 88's swept in they were met bv heavy fire from the Liberator. One of them broke away and disappeared disabled. A few minutes later three of the enemy returned to the attack. One was struck by the Liberator's fire and the Czechs saw it crash. One further concentrated attack was Made, during which the enemy again suffered damage.- then the assault became irregular and less determined, until at last the formation flew off.
