Fighting continues in Western Yunnan, says a Chungking communique. Both sides have suffered heavy casualties. The Japanese captured Chingchiwu, Hung-ehiang-chwang, , and Cheng-chuan-shin in Western but the Chinese later recaptured the last-named two towns, and are now pursuing the retreating enemy. The struggle for Suitung-cheng, in Southern Anwhei, continues. The Chinese are making progress in the Kwangteh sector. ' |
