PREMISES RAIDED AT PALMERSTON On Saturday the premises of John Henry Appleby, stationer, of Palmerston, were raided by Detective Brown (Dunedin) and Constable Kelly, and later Appleby appeared before Messrs R. Cameron and J. Ross, justices of the peace, on a charge of bookmaking. He pleaded guilty and elected to be dealt with summarily.
