APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS (V.A.) WELLINGTON, July; 15. Appointments 1 and promotions in the New Zealand military forces which were gazetted to-night include the following:— New Zealand Engineer Defence Service Corps: Temporary Major 0. G, Thornton is appointed assistant director of: engineer services, Northern Military District,' and granted the temporary rank of lieiitehantcolonel. , New Zealand Infantry: Major F. W. Hugjfins is granted the temporary- rank of lieu-, tenant-colonel while commanding; a battalion.
Territorial Force, New .Zealand Corps of Signals: Temporary Major S.. G., Anderson, commanding a divisional signals, is to be temporary lieutchant-coiquel. Lieutenant-colonel K. W. E. Glasgow is to be temporary colonel while holding the appointment of offiger commanding troops in a division,. New Zealand Artillery, N:Z.E.F. Major M. C. Fairbrother is to bo temporary lieutenant-colonel while commanding a battalion, New Zealand infantry, N.Z.E.F. : ~ Lieutenant-colonel G. F. Bertrand, 2nd Maori Battalion, is appointed to command the battalion temporarily, and .Temporary Major R. Royal, who has recently been in cnftimand, is appointed second in command of the battalion temporarily. . .
