JAPAN'S GIFT TO SIAM
TRANSFER OF FORMER BRITISH TERRITORIES (Bee 11 a.m.) RUGBY, July 14., The Foreign Secretary, Mr Anthony Eden, when asked if his attention had been drawn to the cession .by Japan of four Malay States and two Shan States to Siam in gratitude for that country's aid to Japan, replied that the British Government did not recognise these transfers of territories which formed part of the British Commonwealth and the Empire. " Nor do we regard them as permanent, since it is the fixed intention of ourselves and our allies to drive the Japanese from these regions," he added.
