INTERNEES IN MALAYA AND HONGKONG
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 17. The Government has received advice that the following prisoners of war are interned in Malaya:—Captain A. It. Hughes, New Zealand Government Agent at Colombo, whose wife is Dr Elizabeth Hughes, of Auckland; Mr K. W. Manning, Rubber Estate Agency Ltd., Malaya, whose wife is Mrs K. W. Manning, of Auckland; Captain Jack Baird, Federated Malay States Volunteer Force, whose wife is Mrs It. H. Baird, of Auckland. The following are in Stanley Camp, Hongkong: — ? Miss Margaret North, nurse, Military Hospital, Hongkong, whose father is Mr W. B. North, of Nelson; Mr Harry Kin Hong Long, Hongkong Volunteer Force, whose mother is Mrs Ah Long, of Greymouth. Also at Stanley Camp, but not interned, is Miss Margaret Jennings, a missionary, whose sister is Mrs G. O. Harding, of Petoue.
