APPEAL BOARD
The following additional appeals were heard by the No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board on Friday afternoon. The board'comprised Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., Mr J. Price, and Mr H. Hodgson Mr A. N. Haggitt appeared for the Crown :—, Adjourned sine die: National Bank ot New Zealand Ltd., for J. B. Quaile, clerk, and W. M. Thompson, teller; W. H. York, traveller (own appeal); Director of National Service, for C. A. MacKennifi, carpenter; Cad bury Fry Hudson Ltd., for G. Ilegbie, foreman, H. Haworth, and IV W. . IDickson, employees; Don'aghy's Rope and Twine Co. Ltd., foi H. W. Bayne, machinist; Director of National Service, forC G. Ballantvne, flaxmill worker; Sims Cooper "and Co., for E. F. M. Hartle and C. C. Mathews, stock buyers. The appeal of C. S. Jenkins and Co. for release of an apprentice, D. R. Leckie, was dismissed, as also was that of Cadbury Fry Hudson Ltd. for JR. L. Marslaiid, reservist not to be called up 'before June 30. In an appeal by the Commercial Union Insurance Company for J. S.Douglas, inspector, decision was reserved.
