APPEAL DISALLOWED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 16. The judges of the New Zealand Ilacing Conference disallowed an appeal by the stipendiary steward, Mr B. N. Sandilands, ordered by the Executive Committee against the Taranaki District Committee's decision respecting his appeal against the finding of the club's Judicial Committee concerning the running of the Timaru Hack Handicap at the Taranaki meeting at Stratford on February 27. The judges (Messrs J. Macfarlane Laing, H. P. F. Blundell, and R. J. Murphy) heard Mr Sandilands, Mr G. Fraser. (representing the Judicial Committee of the TaranaUri Jockey Club and the Taranaki District Committee), and counsel for the owner of Embroider, and read the evidence placed before the two committees. Mr Sandilauds stated to the Judicial Committee that in the run home from the straight , Flying Ace (D. W. Redstone), who was placed second to'Embroider, suffered some interference from Embroider (W. J. Brough ton), which might affect the placings. The finish was close (the judge's margin being a head), and he considered that Flying Ace's chance was so seriously interfered with that without this interference he would have won. The committee decided that no action be taken, and the Taranaki District Committee upheld this decision.
