SIR HAVILAND HILEY
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 1. The death has occurred of Sir Ernest Haviland Hiley, the expert on railway matters, who was general manager of New Zealand Railways from 1913 to 1919. [Sir Haviland Hiley joined the Northeaster Railway ia 1891, and was passenger manager of the Great Northern Railways (London) from 1905 to 190 S. He left the North-eastern Railway in 1913 to reorganise* and take up the general managership of New Zealand Railways. He later became, adviser on railway'questions to the Rhodesian Government. Since 193>r he; was chairman of the English Traffic Commissioner* (eastern area). He was knighted in 1.928:]
