HOLMES FEATHERS
The North-east Valley green was in good order, for the final "of the Holmes Feathers competition for the 1942-43 season between the Kaikorai and Balmacewen Clubs. The game was closely contested, and although the Kaikorai men won with seven points in their favour, the score sheets showed that each team had 80 points on the twentieth end. Results (Kaikorai names fi rs t) : —Armstrong, Cubit, Hanna, Stoddart 26, Hiudle, Austin, Avent, Macdonald 15 ; Shadrack, Lothian, Findlay, Clark 17, H. Wilson, G. Adamson, J Adamson, Buchan 29; Anderson, Dela'hunty, Bolt, Ufton 24, McDonald, J. Wilson, Wallace, Ferguson 13; Ritchie, Jackson, Keelar, Devereux 20, Allan, Hughes. Shaw. Davis 23. Totals: Kaikorai 87, Balmacewen 80. Mr S. A. Wood, president of the DunI'din Centre, congratulated the Kaikorai players on winning the competition for the first time, and then presented the cabinet containing the 16 feathers and the Australian " Friendship Clock," two trophies associated with the competition. In the last 25 years this competition has been won by the Dunedin Club 11 times, Caledonian and St. Kilda each four times, and North-east Valley, Ota<*;o, Roslyn, St. Clair. Taieri, and Kaikorai each on one occasion.
