TAIERI RIVER TRUST
The monthly meeting of the Taieri .River Trust was presided over by Mr H. W Wilson (chairman). The Chairman of Works reported that the dragline had completed operations for the financial year; that the painting of the pumping station buildings had been completed; that the work of widening the lake drain was now in hand; and that it was intended to make a start on cleaning the main drain. —Approved. The Rehabilitation Board asked for particulars of _ work that could absorb returned servicemen.—The clerk was instructed to supply particulars of the balance of the work of deepening Lee Creek. • . . It was decided to write to the Taien County Council regarding the removal of gravel from the Waipori River and the question of repairing damage to the bank of the river. The Clerk reported on the position of the drainage account', and as the estimates had been exceeded, it was decided to restrict expenditure on this account as much as possible till the end of the financial year. Accounts totalling £415 6s were passed for payment.
