MANCHESTER UNITY
A feature of the installation of officers in Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge was the appointment as Guardian of P.G. Bro. Peter- Thomson, an octogenarian with 63 years of membership to his credit, and still an active participant. The N.G. is P.G. Bro. Fred Lyon, all his subordinates being past officers. Loyal Princess Mary Lodge made a good start for 1943 with a bumper meeting. One new member was initiated. Visitors presented were representative of Loyal Hand and Heart, Albion, Caversiiam, Centenary, and Wanganui. • Members were, pleased to hear that P.G Sister V. (Donaldson was improving in health. Competitions were held, and a- prize awarded to P.G. Sister Douglas. The meeting of Loyal Dunedin was conducted by N.G. Bro. D. Cameron. Sick visitors' reports disclosed more than an average amount of ill-health among members. The first round of trump whist i games was played, and will be continued at the meeting on February 4. Hospital visitors have luckily had little to do over the holiday season. P.G, Bro Jim Galvin, of Loyal Roxburgh, after many months iii hospital as a result of wounds received in the Near East, has been discharged with good prospects of full recovery.
