AXIS TREATIES
LONDON, January 21. Germany and Japan yesterday signed an economic treaty which is similar to the Italian-Japanese treaty signed in Rome. ■ i These treaties are mentioned in a special announcement from Hitler's headquarters, which explained that the treaties supplemented and extended the tripartite pact among the three'nations, and ratified the continuance of longterm economic planning among them. The announcement added: "Hereby the great economic spheres in Europe and Asia are to be exploited with all their strength for a total war against our enemies. Simultaneously there is being created a basis for post-war economic collaboration among the three countries."- »
