FORTY EXECUTIONS
NAZI REPRISALS IN BRUSSELS (Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 21. Forty. Belgians have been executed by tne Nazis at Brussels in the last fortnight, says the' 'Daily Telegraph.' The netims were drawn from a variety of callings, and included police and municipal authorities. More executions are threatened by the military _ governor, von Falkenhausen, as reprisal for "a series of assassinations, acts of terrorism, and sabotage " in Brussels. ! Quoting official reports from Vichy, the British United Press Madrid correspondent saysmore than 1,000 arresti have been made in Lyons, Toulon,/arid Marseilles in the last two days, itfcludiug nearly 200 officers of the disbanded French army. All those arrested are described as Communists or de Gaullists.
