BUCKLAXD.—On January 21, 1943, at the residence of her daughter, 736 George street, Kate, relict of W. V. BucWand, eldest daughter of the late Hon. Justice Conolly, and dearly loved mother of Mrs H W. Wilsou, Mrs A. G. Chirnside, Mrs J'' McLachian (Dunedin), Mrs W. R. Williams (Oamaru), Henry and Wilfred Buckland (D.unedin), and Walter Buckjand (wairnate); in her ninety-third year.—Private interment.—R. McLean and Son, funeral directors.

HOPK.-On January 22, 1943, at Dunediu, Elaine Rebe, clearly beloved wife of Harold Hope, of 57 Leith streqt, and lovetl younger daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Eggers, Clarendon street; aged 28 years. "C.dd 'took her because she was beautiful."—The Funeral will leave our Chapel, 326 George street, To-morrow (Saturday), the 23rd inst., at 3.15 p.m., for the Anderson's Bay Cemetery.—R.
