CAMPAIGN IN OTAGO Tlio Rev. R. S. Watson presided at a meeting of the Otago Regional Committee of the National Campaign for Christian Order on Tuesday afternoon. Reports were received of successful, meetings at Gore, addressed by the Rev. J. Kwen Simpson, at Invercargill by Dean Cruickshank and Principal A. L. Haddon, and at Alexandra and Cromwell by the Rev. A. B. Pywell and Principal Haddon. Satisfaction was expressed with the attendance at the intercessory services at the Town Hall on the National Day of Prayer, from which a collection of about £4O would be handed to the Patriotic Committee for soldiers’ parcels. It. was agreed to approach the church authorities with a. view to forming a Dunedin branch of the Interchurch Council on Public Affairs, on the Wellington headquarters of which the following churches arc represented: Anglican, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Churches of Christ, Congregational, Salvation Army, Society of Friends. It was decided to send letters to Archbishop West-Watson and Archdeacon Bullock expressing appreciation of the high standard of the broadcast meeting at Christchurch. The programme for the Dunedin meeting was finally arranged, the speakers to be the Rev. Hi" J. Ryburn and Principal A. L. Haddon. The Rev. D. C. Herron reported that a choir of several hundreds was rehearsing, and a procession of witness was being organised. The Rev. K. A. Bel! presented a report for the Youth Committee, indicating the progress made in connection with the Town Hall youth rally and contacts with numerous youth organisations inside and outside the churches. It was decided to form special committees in areas adjacent. to military camps for the purpose of providing' campaign facilities for the men.
