LICENSED TRADE DISAVOWAL
NO THREAT MADE (P.A.) _ WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. Referring to reports of alleged threats at Christchurch against persons participating in the moral reform movement as affecting the liquor trade, Mr Percy Coyle, secretary of the National Council of the Licensed Trade, has dissociated his organisation from any such action. The organisation has no knowledge of anyone adopting a threatening attitude, and, furthermore, as a national organisation, it has Always been a paramount aim of theirs that the right of free speech should he maintained.
