HARD OF HEARING LEAGUE
Eulogistic references to the work of the president, Dr W. E Carswell, were made at the fust, annual meeting of the Otago branch of the New Zealand Hard of Hearing League last evening. In the absence of Dr Carswell owing to illness, Dean Cruickehank occupied the chair and moved the adoption of the annual report. The annual balance sheet showed a most satisfactory financial position in spite of the increased expenditure due to the opening of the new rooms last September. The following officers were elected;—President, Dr W. E. Carswell; vice-president, Dean Cruickshank; hen, secretary and treasurer,' Miss M. Telfer; committee-—Messrs R, Fraser, A. I. Wood, Magnus Thomson. T. A. Morland, W. E. Earilshaw. A. C. McGeorge, Mesdames B. Kerr, G. Reilly, Misses E. C. Gawn, L. Gillies. M. Park, H. Miller, and J. Brugh.
