POLICE COURT
FRIDAY, JULY 24. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Richard Harold Botting (Mr _ While) pleaded guilty to a charge of assisting in the commission of an offence in connection with the obtaining of a warrant of fitness for a motor truck,. and was convicted ana. discharged, the view being taken that the matter arose largely owing -to disorganisation of staffs. . Alexander Ledingham Smith Cassie, tor failure to procure a current warrant of fitness for his car, was fined 5s and costs. On a charge of driving a car without care and attention William John Murphy (Mr I. B. Stevenson) was convicted and ordered to pay costs (10s). . A conviction only was entered against Gilbert M. Beaufort and David Owens on charges of being the owners of unlicensed wireless receiving sets.—-Similarly charged, Nellie Robson Chave was convicted and ordered to pay costs (10s).
