SHANE MARKET No business was transacted on ’Change this morning, and no business was reported. The demand for Government stocks remained undiminished, while there was a complete absence of sellers. There was buying support for banking issues, and New South Wales were sought at £26; New Zealands were quoted buyers 36s 9d, with sellers one shilling away. In insurance Nationals had sellers at 18s, and Standards at 595; buyers appeared tor New Zealands at 59s 6d, and for South British at 51s. No sellers quoted in shipping, and a demand for P. and O. Deferred at. 29s 6d was not supported._ In meat preserving Refrigerating contributing had sellers at Bs, buyers being threepence below. Southland Frozen Meats were offered at 33s 6d. A seller of New Zealand Loan and Mercantile ordinary stock appeared in the loan and agency section, quoting at £42; there were buyers of Trustees Executors at 80s, and W.S. and Co. ordinaries at 18s 9d. New Zealand Breweries were wanted at 31s 6d, the lowest selling hid being 32s 3d. In coal and oil Kaitangatas were offered at 335, Westports wore quoted 22s fid buyers, 23s sellers, Westport-Stockton ordinaries 2s sd, 2s 7d, and the preference issue was offered at 6s lOd. Woollens saw Kaiapoi stock in demand ; buyers of the ordinary shares offered 18s, while the prefs were sought at 19s 3d. Bruce ordinaries had sellers at 23s 6d, the best buying tender being 225. In the miscellaneous group Booth Macdonald prefs had sellers at Ss, British Tobacco prefs were offered at 395, and Broken Hills at 32s 6d; there was no buying support. Colonial Sugars were wanted at £3B, and Crystal Ice at AOs, without sellers appearing. Dominion Fertilisers were offered at 225; G. J. Coles were wanted at 41s, ‘ Oft ago Daily Times ’ at 38s 3d, while National Electrics were quoted 2Xs 6d buyers, 23s sellers. New Zealand Drugs were sought at 695, the seller’s figure being 72s 6d ex div. Woolworths (New Zealand) had sellers at 13s, and Woolworths (Sydney) buyers at 12s 6d. In Australian mining Broken Hill Souths were offered at 21s; buyers of North Broken Hills offered 325, Bulolos were wanted at 20s, and Mount Lyells were quoted 22s buyers, 25s 6d sellers.
