A further statement concerning the welfare of the olliccrs ami men of the New y<calanil Aerodrome Construction Unit wafe made by the Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, to-night. Official advice giving the names of Die personnel of this unit evacuated from •Singapore to Australia has now been received by air headquarters, Wellington, and urgent telegrams, have been sent to the next of kin. inquiries are being made as to the welfare of other New Zealanders who were at Singapore, and a statement will bo made immediately further information is received. In the meantime correspondence should bo addressed care of Air Headquarters, 'Wellington.
