GERMAN PRISON CAMPS

RECOMMENDED IMPROVEMENTS BEING CARRIED OUT (British Official Wireless.) RUG BY, Dec. 23. The camp at Ollag Vl.b, which contains about 2j500 British officers and 470 orderlies, was visited on November 9 by a delegate of the International Bed Cross. Strong representations on unsatisfactory features which were discovered were made to the German authorities, who gave assurances that improvements would be made at once. These improvements, it is stated, have already been started. Two hundred senior officers are now being transferred to a new camp, and 400 airmen are to be transferred in tbo middle of January. Ten new brick barracks are ’being built. Food parcels are abundant, and there is a very large stock in reserve. The prisoners were stated to be looking very Jit, and those from Greece and Crete are very much improved in health.
