NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN IN CANADA HIGHLY-POPULAR TRAINEES (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 6. “ The only trouble wo find with your New Zealand airmen is that they ara taking our prettiest girls,” said tha Canadian Trade Commissioner to Australia (Lieutenant-colonel Cosgrave),who is visiting New Zealand aft’er a vacation in Canada. “ The behaviour of the New Zealanders is of a particularly high stan. dard,” he said. “ They are in tha fullest sense ambassadors of the Dominion. Our - people have taken :o them, and I am sure some of then; will be returning to Canada after the war. Some of the cities complain that they do not get enough opportunities of entertaining New Zealanders.” Lieutenant-colonel Cosgrave said tho outstanding feature of the New Zcala'-d airmen was their high standard of training before reaching Canada. They and the Australians were always in the top bracket.
