RESUSCITATION CLASSES
SUCCESSFUL RESULT AT PALMERSTON The president of the Otago branch of the Royal Life Saving Society (Mr H. H. Henderson), the secretary (Mr P. ,4. Mathieson), and Mr H. D. Gillies visited Palmerston last night, accompanied by the Otago physical welfare and recreation officers (Mr R. O. Johnson and Miss Mary Martin), for the purpose of conducting an examination for the resuscitation certificate of the society. Tin* class which sat the examination was drawn from members of the Home
Guard and E.P.S. organisations, baring been organised by Mr Johnson. The examination was taken by 20 candidates, all of whom proved successful in gaining a pass, the result reflecting great credit upon the instructors (Messrs Henderson and Mathieson). Following the examination, an inaugural meeting was held of a women’s “ keep-fit ” and recreation class, which is being conducted by the area welfare and recreation officer. Miss Martin. The classes, which are to be held weeklv. ere conducted under the auspices of the W.W.S.A.
