OUR SOLDIERS IN BRITAIN

DIRECTIONS FDR SENDING PARCELS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. “ Some misapprehension still appears to exist in connection with parcels for New Zealanders serving in the United Kingdom,” said the Postmaster-Gene-ral, Mr Webb, in a statement to-night. Such parcels to men in the Navy and Air Force, he said, should be sent care of the New Zealand War Services Association, 415 Strand, London, W.C.2, otherwise they would be liable to Customs duty in Britain and subject to the restrictions applicable to civilians’ parcels. Parcels to members of the New Zealand Forestry Unit should be sent direct to that unit, the Minister said. It was advisable for New Zealanders serving in the United Kingdom, except members of the forestry unit, to keep the New Zealand War Services Association advised of their whereabouts to facilitate the delivery of parcels.
