DAFFODIL DAY

Word has been received that the Lawrence daffodils will be sent as usual. Many beautiful flowers from Dunedin gardens will also be for sale at the Plunket Society’s Daffodil Day to bo held on Friday next. The stallholders are as follows; —Exchange: Mesdames Norman Speight. Mark Hanan, D. Solomon, and Jones. Bank of New Zealand: Mesdames Gallaway, James Begg, A. Barnett, Caiman, Bruce, and R. Ritchie, City Hotel:

Mesdames Cleghorn, Reid, Cunningham, Longbottorn, Misses Johnston and Theomin. H.B. Corner: Mesdames Williams, Cairney, Allen, Paris, and Smellie. Neill’s Corner: Mesdames Moody, Dawson, Myers, and Turner. South Dunedin: Mrs Taverner and helpers. Pitt street: Mesdames Bauld, Robinson, and helpers. Gifts of flowers, vegetables, eggs, cakes, etc., will be gratefully received. It is hoped that the man}’ mothers in South Dunedin will rally round Mrs Taverner’s stall to make it as great a success as it was in 1940.
