ST. KILDA AFFAIRS
BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING The St. Kilda Borough Council held its fortnightly meeting last night, the mayor (Mr N. D. Anderson) presiding. Crs G. Glue, W. J. Lovell, T. D. B. Roy, J. C. Cherry, R. S. Brent, W. Rutherford, J. H. Hinton, H. H. Johnson, A. H. Finnic, and E. Longworth were in attendance. The foreman (Mr J. C. Clyma) stated that he would be ready to begin sealing about October 6, and suggested that he start with the sealing of Alfred street. The report was adopted, as were the reports of the plumber (Mr A, X. Shepperd) and the inspector (Mr F, T. de Largey). Accounts amounting to £506 13s 2d were passed for payment. Receipts were advised at £341 15s Id, the bank balance being £B7O 13s 6d in debit. Water consumption was advised at 1,076.000 gallons, the cost being £l6l 6s lOd. For the previous fortnight the cost was £l5B 5s Id.
