LAST NIGHT’S SESSION Under the chairmanship of the Rev. T. M. Cameron Hay, (lie Taicri competitions were continued Inst evening in the Coronation Hall, Mo.sgicl. The awards announced at the close of the programme wore as follows; — Action Duet, m character, under 15. Miss Audrey hdmoml and Miss Joan Logie 1, Miss Lois hyau and miss Shirley Stewart 2, Miss Valma Luuo and Master Ronald Lobh 3. Piano Solo, 16 and under 18. One competitor.—Miss Lonia V. Oliver 1. Piano Duet, 15 and under 18.—Miss Helen Logie and Miss Nessio Brown 1, Miss Noeline Marslon and Miss Lorraine Otto 2. The only competitors. Character Sketch, under 16. —The following were recalled for Thursday evening:— Miss Juno Tregilgus, Miss Valma Lobb, and Miss Audrey Geary. Miss Dorothy Jones, Miss Hilda Brockie, and Miss Audrey Edmond were highly commended, and Master Ronald Lobb and Master Robert Green were commended. Playette, six players, 12 and under 16. Miss Swallow’s Young Players, ‘ The Heimit,’ 1. Action Song, in character, under 12. The following were recalled for this evening’s session Miss Hilary Mason, Miss June Tregilgus, and Miss Pat Golden. Master Billy Chambers was very highly commended; Miss. Valma Lobb, Master Keith Law, and Master John Mason were highly commended; and Master Ronald Lobb and Miss Vilma Edwards were commended. Miss Patricia Goodlet and Master Bruce M'Gregor also competed. Sacred Choir of 25 voices, own selection; sacred part song (piano accompaniment).— Green Island Women’s Institute Choir (conductor, Mr Houston; pianist, Mrs Edmonds) 1, Mosgiel Sacred Choir (conductor, Mr E. W. Cate; pianist, Mrs L. J. Ferguson) 2. Action Song, in character, 12 and under 15. —The following were recalled to this evening’s session:—Miss Beverley Wix and Miss Noeline Campbell. Master Murray Edmond and Miss Audrey Edmond were placed equal -for third award; Master Jack Geddes was very highly commended,. Miss Joan Logie and Miss Shirley J. Stewart were highly commended, and Master Arthur Berry commended. Character Sketch, 16 and over.—Mrs D. Womall-Smith (‘ Mrs ’Arris Flies to Paris ’) 1. Miss E. J. Frew (Why, of Coarse ') 2. „ , Action Song, in character, 15 and under 18; one competitor.—Miss Margaret Stewart The programme for to-night will consist of national dancing, playette, juvenile songs, piano, recalls action duet, adults piano, vocal solos and duets, elocution.
