MODEL ENGINEERING
DEMONSTRATION OF STEAM ENGINES Mr R. Douglas presided at, the monthly meeting of the Model Engineering Club, mid extended a welcome to visitors and members, including Messrs Ellis (Cromwell)', and Doran (Oamnru). An interesting evening arranged by several members of the steam section proved attractive to members. A number of engines were run under steam, and several boilers were used to raise steam, each proving efficient. Something like the engine room of a ship in miniature was produced, and everyone present expressed the wish that other evenings should be arranged in a similar manner. The October meeting will feature a debate, ‘ Petrol v. Steam.’ The leader of the steam team will be Mr D. Mercer, the petrol team being led by Mr R. Abbott. It was decided to inquire into the possibility of getting small club badges made for members, and of making a presentation of a commemorative token to each past president.
