COMMUNITY SINGS.

TO THE EDITOR, Sir, —Would it he possible for the leaders of Friday’s community sing to use a little more judgment and discretion when there are artists singing by putting them on, say, after the news bulletins have finished? To-day one artist was cut oif the air. This habit of putting people on just when tho news is about to be broadcast is certainly' not very good, especially for those who listen and are unable to go along and join in tho singing with the rest of the public. If the song leader wants to talk a lot of “ hooey ” to his audience (as ho already persists in doing), let it be done when the station is off the air. I am sure listeners will agree with me when I say there is far too much talking and nonsense going on, which sometimes causes unnecessary delay. If they want to hear how to run a good community sing let them listen to their contemporary, South Dunedin. Out there the leaders do know how to arrange a programme and conduct the business, hut 1 am satisfied in town on Friday it is the opposite.—l am, etc., Less Talk. September 27.
