CONSPIRACY TRIAL
A PROTRACTED CASE Press Association—l3y Telegraph—Copyright (Rcc. 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, June IS. A conspiracy trial, regarded as one of the most protracted in the history of tho New South Wales courts, involving well-known men, ended tonight. Tho case has been before the courts for over two years. Ronald Bruce Walker, former member of the State Parliament, Albert Levitus, solicitor, William Kingsley Wicks, accountant, and Clive Oscar Airey, secretary, wore charged with having conspired with John Woollcott Forbes and two others not in custody to defraud shareholders of the Scottish Loan and Finance Company Ltd.
Some evidence in this case was taken in New Zealand. The jury found Walker guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy. Levitus was also found guilty and Airey not guilty. The jury is still deliberating with regard to Wicks.
