This map shows the latest battle area centred in Iraq, where Hitler is this time finding that Britain is at least one jump ahead of his latest liireling, Rashid Ali. Britain’s chief interest in this area is the oil line from Kirkuk to Haifa, which has been plotted here as accurately as the limited information on its course permits. While reports seem to indicate that the Iraqi incident should soon be cleared up, Germany is unlikely to sit quietly on the Turkish-Greek border or remain idle on the islands of the Egean ; and Turkey may be the next country to come into the threat of the Nazi military machine in its drive towards Suez.
