allied line remains unbroken Enemy Massed Attacks Shattered LONDON, April 21. The enemy is bringing up more and more reinforcements, but the Allies are fighting like lions, and are holding their new positions in the shorter defence line. South of Mount Olympus the Germans sacrificed thousands of men in an unsuccessful attempt to break through. Mount Olympus was evacuated before the Germans occupied it. Xn Albania the Greeks have driven the Italians back past the original positions in some sectors. A Cairo communique states: The Greek and Imperial troops have completed their withdrawal, covered by rearguards. By the able handling and determined fighting these rearguards succeeded in delaying the German. advance and inflicted heavy casualties. A Middle East war communique says : In Greece heavy attacks by German armoured formations and infantry along the whole of our front have been repulsed with severe casualties to the enemy. Many prisoners have been taken. In spite of the weight of these attacks our front has nowhere been penetrated. A Greek communique states: ‘ ‘ The Greeks continue their successful retiring movement in Albania without impediment, and are chasing back the enemy everywhere that he has attempted to harass our movements. Wo have inflicted heavy casualties. The German push southward in Macedonia has been stemmed. ”• The Greek radio declared that the Germans w-ere unable to pierce the main Allied line.
