(Received April 19, at 11 a.m.) It is announced that the Netherlands East Indies Navy will be reinforced as a result of activities in Canada, the United States, and the East Indies. The merchant fleet will also shortly be expanded. The personnel of the Netherlands Government in London will be increased by experts from the Netherlands East Indies.

The following official casualty list was issued to-day:— Sergeant Andrew George Sutherland, H.N.Z.A.F., missing on operations. His mother is Mrs D. Sutherland, 39 Palmerston street, Hamilton. Sergeant Sutherland was born at Hawera in 1919 and educated at the Hamilton High School. Sergeant Douglas Charles Bedlington Jenkins, H.N.Z.A.E., missing on air operations. His father is Dr C. C. Jenkins, Great South road, Manurewa. Sergeant Jenkins was born at Kawhia in 1914 and educated at the Pukekohe High School. ~ Sergeant Tahu William Dabinette, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on operations. His next-of-kin is' Mrs A. Dabinette, 77 Burnett street, Ashburton. Sergeant Dabinette was born at Ashburton in 1919 and was educated at the Ashburton Technical High School. He took a prominent part in sporting activities in Ashburton. Acting Flight-lieutenant Lindsay Basil Buchanan, D.P.C., R.A.F., missing on operations. His father is Mr A. LI. Buchanan, of Kairanga, Palmerston North. Acting Flight-lieutenant Buchanan was born at Palmerston North in 1917 and was educated at the Palmerston North Boys’ High School, the Otago University, and the Victoria University' College. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross a few weeks ago. Sergeant Richard James Alexander Blackstock, R.N.Z.A.F., missing on operations. His mother is Mrs W. Blackstock, of Rltham, Taranaki. Sergeant Blackstock was born at Rltham in 1918 and was educated at the Stratford Technical School.

GOODS FOR TURKEY TRANSIT FROM SWEDEN VIA RUSSIA LONDON, April 17. The Istanbul correspondent of the British United Press says that Turkey is reported to be arranging with Russia for the transit of goods from Sweden to Turkey, via Russia, instead of Germany.
