ANNUAL MEETING OF SUB-BRANCH The annual meeting of the Dunedin sub-branoli of the Otago Educational Institute was held in the club rooms last night, Mr H. Laing presiding. Moving the adoption of the annual report, the Chairman said that it was pleasing to record that interest in institute affairs continued unabated in spite of other and more weighty national affairs which might have been expected to influence it unfavourably. He referred to the popularity of the short informal addresses on current institute affairs given during the year by Messrs D. Forsyth and A. Hanna. The Chairman mentioned with regret the loss the institute had suffered through the deaths of Mr W. F. Abe) (for many years a staunch worker) and Major F. Brooks (a former member who had given his life on active service) .—The report was adopted. OFFICE-BEARERS. The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr T. Wilson; vice-president, Mr C. Hill; secretary, Mr D. S. Deacon; committee—Misses V. Tyndal, M. Morris, E. E. Sutherland, Messrs 0. W. Briggs, J. A. M'Leod, It. M'Neil, F. L. C. Scrivener; delegates to the Committee of Management—Misses Sutherland and Morris, Messrs Briggs, Laing, C. Hill, and J. Armstrong. An address was given by Mr A. Hanna dealing with current institute activities and films of educational significance were screened.
