RIGHT TO VOTE BY DECLARATION [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 17. The position of State tenants whose names are not enrolled and who wish to vote by declaration at the local elections was discussed by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry) with a deputation to-day. The Miniter said that such persons would have the right to vote bv declaration.
Recent legislation had placed State tenants in exactly the same position as ratepayers so far as the inclusion of their names on county rolls was concerned, said the Minister, who, while not usurping the functions of an authority in deciding the legal position, expressed the view that it was the duty of local bodies to sec that these names were enrolled.
