MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD The monthly meeting of the Otago Harbour Hoard which was hold last night was attended by Messrs ill. S. Thompson (in the chair), J. Preston, A. Smith, W. 11. Clarke, J. TI. Duncan, D. r. H. Sharpe, F. E Tyson, J. W. iMunro, M.P., 111. Walls, t). Copland, W. Uegg. FINANCE.
The bank balance showed a credit of £11.277 5s lOcl. The statement of revenue and expenditure for the six mouths ended March 31 showed the former to ho £86,151 and the latter £89,409. The respective figures for the same period in 1939-40 were £84,737 and £102,825, and for 1938-39 £100,640 and £110,611. RETURN OF CARGO.
The return of cargo for the six months ended March 31 was given as follows, those for the same period in 1939-40 being given in parentheses:— Imports, 151,474 tons (133,549); exports, 63,457 tons (64.248). For the montli of March, 1941, the figures were : Imports, 32,493 tons (20,587); exports, 14,133 tons (15,127). ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES, During March 26 vessels, totalling 38,558 tons arrived at Dunedin, and
five vessels, totalling 12.167 tons at Port Chalmers. The departures were: Twenty-four vessels (32,306 tons) from Dunedin and five vessels (15,196 tons) from Port Chalmers.
