An Air Ministry communique states: “ Three heavily-laden enemy coastal vessels off North-west France were attacked in daylight yesterday by a Blenheim of the Bomber Command. Direct bite were obtained on two vessels, which were left sinking. Aircraft of the same command j made -a low-level attack on Borkum at dusk. An enemy bomber was intercepted by our fighters in tlio afternoon and shot down into the sea south of the Isle of Wight. In addition, an aircraft of the Coastal Command is missing from patrol yesterday. “Last night, despite unfavourable weather', considerable forces of aircraft of the Bomber Command attacked targets in Northern Germany. The principal objective was the naval base at Kiel, whore many bombs fell on shi|>building yards and fires were started. The docks at Boulogne were also bombed through gaps in the prevailing clouds. From these night operations two of onr aircraft are missing.”
