TRUCK IMPRESSMENT
A BAD BUNGLE APPEAL AUTHORITY WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS [Per United Press Association.] GISBORNE, March 13. The opinion that the whole business of the impressment of trucks for the Army had been very badly managed was expressed by Mr P. J. 0. Skoglund, No. 2 Licensing Authority, at a sitting yesterday. He stated that he had been appointed the appeal authority in connection with impressment, but he had not been given any instructions as to the procedure. He had received a number of complaints, and evidence of considerable hardship. At the same time he had been told that Wairoa had.
sent in a list of 17 trucks which were available to the department, but nothing further had been heard regarding them.
